Gretsch / G6119-1962HT '62 Tennessee Rose HT

The Gretsch Co. started the history by German by started manufacturing such as the drum, banjoes, and tambourines in 1883 in Brooklyn in New York immigrant Friedrich Gretsch. Fred Gretsch (second generation) patches the back when entering the 1900's, and it develops well. The guitar production is started at middle of the 1920's, it begins to produce the pick guitars with f hall in full scale in the 1930's, and the model with picking up increases gradually until the 1940's.
The jet series is announced on the inside where the fender company and the Gibson company announce a solid guitar in 1953 in the 1950's. Chet Atkins (present G6120) that can be called the signboard model of the Gretsch Co. is announced in 54. The Gretsch Co. grew up rapidly by the rockabilly musician's influence in the 1960's afterwards.
However, a sense of existence is shown by Fred Gretsch III ..management right.. ..buyback.. again in 1985 though it is not possible to get over, and there is an age when the guitar manufacturing is temporarily discontinued in the flow of the hard rock boom, too, when the Gretsch Co. in the latter half of the 1960's is purchased for a Baldwin piano & organ company, and it enters the 1970's. It doesn't limit to the rockabilly, a lot of musicians who use the Gretsch guitar in a wide genre exist, and it keeps growing up as a unique brand the guitar brand that influences by many fields now.

グレッチ社は1883年、ニューヨークのブルックリンにてドラム、バンジョー、タンバリンなどの製造を始めたドイツ系移民フリードリッヒ・グレッチ氏により歴史がスタートしました。 1900年代に入ると、フレッド・グレッチ（二世）が後を継ぎ、順調に発展。1920年代の半ばにギター製作を始め、1930年代にfホール付きのピックギターを本格的に生産開始し、 1940年代にかけてピックアップ付きモデルが次第に増えていきます。
　1950年代、フェンダー社やギブソン社がソリッドギターを発表するなかで、1953年にジェット・シリーズを発表。54年にはグレッチ社の看板モデル とも言えるチェット・アトキンス・ホロウボディ（現G6120）が発表されます。その後は1960年代にかけて、ロカビリー・ミュージシャンの影響によ り、グレッチ社は飛躍的に成長しました。
　しかし、1960年代後半、グレッチ社がボールドウィン・ピアノ＆オルガン・カンパニーに買収され、1970年代に入ると、ハードロック・ブームの流れ に乗り切れず、一時、ギター製造を中止する時代もありましたが、1985年に、フレッド・グレッチ三世により経営権を買い戻し、再び存在感を表していま す。現在では、ロカビリーに限らず、幅広いジャンルでグレッチ・ギターを使用するミュージシャンが多く存在し、多方面で影響を与えるギター・ブランドとし て唯一無二のブランドとして成長をし続けています。
